Sheet music Christmas Tree Craft

Taking a break from the Christmas ball series to bring you this fun and easy Christmas craft. Do you have a lot of old sheet music in your house that you have no idea what to do with? Well today I’m going to teach you how to use it to make a beautiful Christmas tree decoration. First take your piece of sheet music and cut off the top and bottom portions that do not contain music notes. Next I took a pair of fancy scissors and cut along the bottom making a pretty pattern but this is completely optional if you don’t have fancy scissors. Next fold your sheet music into a cone shape and tape it at the top. Then grab a wooden skewer or any kind of thick stick and tape it inside your cone. For the stand cut a square shape off of a foam block and wrap it in Christmas wrapping paper as if it is a present. Then poke your tree right through the stand as far as it can go without going all the way through. For a star draw or trace a star on a piece of yellow or gold foam, cut it out and glue...

Christmas Ball Series Part 1

Do you have lots of old ornament balls in your basement that you don’t know what the heck to do with? Maybe you want to use them to decorate your tree but they are just too run down and boring! Well never fear, Colleen is here!! In this special three part series I’m going to show you how to transform your boring old Christmas balls into ornaments that will look beautiful on your Christmas tree this holiday season!! The first ornament I’m going to teach you to make is the jingle bell mouse, which I named after a role I had in my elementary school Christmas play! This would also be great to make if you are a Disney fan because it resembles Mickey Mouse. Anyway the first thing you are going to do is take a piece of pipe cleaner and string on some mini jingle bells. Depending on the size of your ornament ball I would recommend using about 4 or 5 bells. Next wrap your pipe cleaner around the middle of your ball and tie it off. Cut off any extra pipe cleaner hanging off the back. Lastl...

Clothes Pin Turkey Craft

Here is a fun craft I made for Thanksgiving! First I started by drawing a turkey face shape on a piece of light brown construction paper, pretty much just a simple circle, nothing fancy. Next I cut it out and glued on two googly eyes. For the beak and wattle I cut out the triangle and wattle shapes from yellow and red foam. I then glued them on the turkey face and glued the entire face to the top of the clothes pin. For the feathers I cut squares from red, yellow and green tissue paper. I then folded the squares as if I were making a card and bunched them up at the crease. Once I had all three colors bunched up I lined them up together kind of overlapping, opened the clothes pin and slid the feathers in right at the center where they all overlapped. Lastly I let the glue dry and that’s all there was to it. This was a very easy, fun craft to make and would make a great centerpiece at a Thanksgiving table! You could make this with different materials if you don’t have the ones I us...

Galaxy Painting

For my first tutorial I am going to teach you how to do Galaxy Painting, my own style of painting that I invented this weekend! Materials you will need: Plain white paper White crayon Water color paint Tempera Paint Q tips A small cup of water Thick construction paper Glue stick Scissors Step 1: Cut your white paper anyway you want or leave as is Step 2: Draw on your white paper with your white crayon. This step may be a little difficult because you won’t really be able to see what you are drawing. I would recommend keeping it super simple by just drawing stars, the moon or anything you might see in outer space. You can also write your name as well. Stencils might also make this step easier if you have them on hand. Step 3: Grab your water color paint and paint the entire piece of white paper. You will magically be able to see your white crayon drawings. Use as many colors as you want to create a tie dye design. You can also add glitter while the paint is still wet but this is co...
